Tempo Run

Each Tuesday The Triathlon Squad has been doing a tempo run. This could be thought of as "comfortably fast" or approaching a half marathon intesity. This week we did a full hour at this speed, preceeded by a 30 minute warmup and followed by a 10 minute cooldown. This means 1:40 of running for a total of 16.5 miles.

I love doing this type of workout, as it allows you to feel fast and work on good running economy, but in reality, it isn't that fast and doesn't push you to the brink of breaking or result in extreme discomfort.

In the video with me are my teammates, Joe Maloy (black jersey), Jason Pedersen (white jersey), and Jen Spieldenner (ponytail). Running with Jason and Joe has been a huge blessing for me and under Paulo's guidance, my run is progressing at an exciting rate!
