Yesterday was four-workout Sunday. Or Sunday Funday. Maybe we're talking semantics. The order of the day was:
Ocean swim
10k tempo run (33:00)
2 hour bike
40min run
I was "given" the second run off due to my history of injury with high run mileage. I'm already doing roughly double what I've maintained in the past, and the second run was a perfect example of a session that certainly wouldn't make my season, but could certainly break it in the event of an injury. My tempo run in incredibly windy conditions was within 40 seconds of my track PR in college, and I went into it with very tired legs. I focused on that and seized the opportunity to make a trail running video of my squadmates, Joe and Jason, accompanying them on my mountain bike. This distracted all of us from how tired we were, and it turned out to be a pretty fun evening.
