Waiting for the laundry

I'm halfway through. It's in the dryer now. I'm watching "Senna", a documentary on Formula One legend Ayarta Senna, a young phenom from Brazil. I'm amazed by his passion, his all-out style, and commitment to his values. I hope he keeps it together through the whole film, so I don't have to rescind my recommendation that you watch it :)

Today was a fairly laid back day by squad standards, we only had a two hour ride with 5min low-cadence, best-watts efforts, followed by a 50 minute run. I decided to Carpe Diem by doing laundry, eating, and blogging about it. Normally, writing a blog seems like an insurmountable task (really, starting is the hard part) and the next workout is just around the corner. Not an ideal situation for someone like myself who likes to finish what they started in one sitting.

I know I am not the only one out there like this. In my psychological evaluation of my roommates, I have discovered that at least Joe shares this same quality. We are from different sides of the country, so it is not a regional phenomenon. Maybe it is simply a trait of over-achievers. I can remember staying up late into the night against my parents orders to try and finish building my first remote control car. For reasons beyond my control, I literally could not put the screw drivers down, working by lamplight, probably taking ten years off of the lifespan of my eyes in one night. For now I will credit my father, I've noticed that he also is either cycling (recreation) or 100% engaged in repairing every last part of his house on any given Saturday. Once he starts, he can't stop until he's exhausted or the light gives out. I love it.

The laundry is done, dinner needs cooking, and Senna is about to take the win.
